If you’re thinking about doing an engagement session, I always recommend starting with a place that is near and dear to you like your home, your neighborhood or where you met/fell in love. I want to tell a story with your wedding photos and it can all start at the engagement shoot. Plus, you know these will be fun to look at in 50 years. I love seeing the old cars, fashions, etc. in my grandparents’ photos. Nostalgia is strong with me! Rebecca + Christian chose the neighborhood where they fell in love and we even got to stop by the swing set where Christian tried to show off and ended on the rooftop of Rebecca’s old building. Those Bushwick VIEWS! Yes, please!

I have mixed feelings on winter this year. This cold. I used to be a big fan and still love winter sports and activities, but with two little boys that are spending the majority of the winter indoors I cannot wait for some warm weather and less layers. That being said, I had a more than enjoyable day getting out into the cold with Ellie + Cooper for their engagement shoot. Do they even look cold? I can't wait for their wedding this year!

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting a little more time with the lovely couple to really get to know them so that on the day of the wedding when things tend to go at warp speed everyone can still be comfortable and enjoy the moment. I also like ending them with a glass of wine and we did just that on this beautiful late Summer day.
